Justis Cousins genuinely loves helping people become better versions of themselves. It’s why he started his career in personal fitness—and it’s also why he made the switch to financial planning. Since becoming an advisor, he’s put his all into empowering his clients to reach their financial goals—and it shows.
A recent Fastrack Academy attendee, Justis has been recognized as one of the top 5% of Northwestern Mutual advisors nationally within the first five years of business. I first met Justis when I spoke to his Fastrack class, and from there, we were also able to work together one-on-one. I enjoyed amplifying the great work Justis and his team are already doing.
We reconnected recently, and I was thrilled to hear how implementing what he’s learned has enabled him to connect with even more new clients and prospects. Let’s take a peek behind the curtain to learn what strategies Justis applied and how he achieved such incredible results.
Justis and his team came to me with a clear goal: reach more people using LinkedIn so they could help more people build better financial futures.
“We wanted to update and refresh our LinkedIn presence and learn how to best engage and connect with our existing connections, as well as create a strategy for new connections,” Justis said.
After hearing my Fastrack talk and connecting with several of his peers who had worked with me in the past, Justis knew he could be leveraging LinkedIn more. He was ready to learn.
We tackled Justis’ goals in a two-step approach that included a complete transformation of his LinkedIn profile as well as a strategy to find and reconnect with prospects in his existing LinkedIn network and via Sales Navigator.

“The strategy helped us to convert a few clients from our existing connections and engage with a few referrals that we otherwise may not have been able to get on the calendar. This helped generate new business in our target market as well as new business from existing contacts and relationships,” Justis said.
Justis was already succeeding but these two simple changes have made a big difference. And it’s not just his business that has benefitted. Justis’ new approach has helped him reconnect with folks he’d lost touch with.
“I have also been able to reconnect professionally with a lot of people from high school, which I’m confident will lead to some new clients down the road and has been really fun and fulfilling as well. I would not have done this had it not been for The CRROWN Method™,” Justis said.
